This 20G turbo upgrade will work with the stock FMIC. I would still recommend sticking with the staged upgrades though and finishing Stage 3 and a fuel pump upgrade first though. Our FMIC kit gives around 15 whp gains across the board on a 325 whp EVO.
Extrude honing the EVO head is possible. I would suggest having it ported though as some of the material that improves the flow has to be removed in particular places, Extrude honing does not address that.
Pictures of the new Upper I/C pipe are on our site now.

Yes, this new 20g turbo is going to basically replace the BR440 kit. This sucks for us as it is one of the better sellers and overall performers. Bottom line is I am bringing a better performing product for less money to you guys. I am not going to make as much but to be honest, it is hard for me to sell something for more money that is going to perform the same or maybe not even as good and do it with a clear conscience.
There will never be a ballbearing option for this turbo.
Spool up on this turbo compared to the stock turbo, I am guess won't even be noticeable.

GT35R development has been done for months. The BB kits are and have been out there. Pruven is running one and just put 606 whp down with it.
The turbo does remain twin scroll, internally gated and uses the stock Mitsubishi compressor cover.
Gains from the larger compressor wheel should be around 50 whp peak. Lag will not be much different if at all.
I will have an unlimited number of these once production is up and running on them.
20G's of the past will hold a steady boost of 25 psi usually without falling off. I use to run mine at 27 psi and it would drop back to 25-26.
The price of $1540 is a completely new 20G, 10.5 housing with the titanium/aluminied wheel.

New uppper i/c pipe is compatible with the factory airbox. Sorry, missed that one.
Not sure what the 3071 kit puts down for power, I don't pay much attention to anyone else's kits but.....this turbo should be able to put down 450 whp on a well tuned Stage 4 car on race gas. That may even be a little conservative.

Two questions:
1. Suprised noone has asked this one: A better flowing turbo will need more fuel. Wouldn't the stock injectors be dangerously close to being maxed out on this setup?
2. Is there at least one Evo out there today using this turbo as a beta tester?

The stock injectors in the EVO should keep up with the 20G turbo. My old DSM went 10.72 at 131 mph on a set of 550 cc injectors and a 20G turbo.
As I have said, I recommend getting Stages 1-4 anyway before ever upgrading to anyone's turbo, this would put 680 cc injectors in the car.
No test units out there yet. These have not been released yet, it is just getting close after a years worth of work. Wheels are suppose to be in tomorrow, if so I expect to have a few units here shortly.

Wow, I was wondering how long it would take this to happen. Now if only Mitsu would make a TD06H twin scroll application...
Race gas, pump gas...it's all AFR's not octane. The times I posted were on race gas yes, regardless, the 550's were enough for those types of times at 30 psi of boost. Drop the boost down to 20 psi and pump gas and you have more than enough injector, know what I mean?
The upper i/c pipe pricing will hopefully drop, even though you think it is a good deal. Right now, as you can see by the picture, we have to hand fabricate the entire piece. It takes us quite awhile. Once our bend shop gets in their new bender that will be able to be made in one piece which should drop the price.

No, the upper i/c pipe is just what you see there. The lower section of the plumbing is already aluminum and I didn't see a good way to really improve on it. No matter what you do the length is going to be the same and so are the basic bends. This just gets rid of the rubber top section.

Quick question David, wouldn't you say that this compressor wheel mated to the stock turbine wheel cause some nasty surging? I mean the stock turbo will surge with high boost so I can only imagine that this hybrid will magnify this problem, specially since the compressor housing is stock and really designed to flow just enough air of the stock wheel. Maybe im wrong though, but it would seem that the turbine side should be upgraded as well, and I dont mean just the housing since even the 10.5 housing will cause surging under high boost part throttle operation.
