Quick parts updates....

Hi guys,

Couple of updates.

Tons of requests for the new upper i/c pipe we offer that doesn't eliminate the stock battery. I could't get them bent the way we built them. Last two days we built fixtures and pipe kits. They are now ready to be shipped. The pipes will however be available right now in a brushed finish only. They look nice, super small TIG welds and nice joints. The pipe can be used with the stock BOV, 1G BOV with an adapter or the recommended Forged BOV kit. BOV's are additional to the cost of the pipe.

STOCK TURBO UPGRADES!!

Can it be?! Finally available?! No, not yet. I have talked to the turbo shop and they are honestly expecting them within 2 weeks now. I have been holding off on building the RS here because I want one of these that bad.

Nobody will know your turbo has been upgraded. Bone stock appearing.

I do have basic pricing for them though and it is listed below:

Build YOUR stock turbo into the upgraded 20G turbo, $840.

Brand new EVO8 turbo upgraded to 20G turbo, $1260.

Brand new EVO8 turbo with the titanium/aluminied wheel, 10.5 turbine housing and 20G compressor wheel, $1540.

Food for thought on these. A small 16g compressor wheel has an inducer bore of 1.80 inches. A big 16g compressor wheel has an inducer bore of 1.89. A 20G compressor wheel has an inducer bore of 2.08.

We see a difference of up to 50 whp with the small 16g vs. the Big 16g wheels. I believe the highest HP I have seen produced on a Big 16g in a DSM is in the 375 whp range. The EVO we have seen go 400 whp on the Big 16g it comes with, I believe the superior turbine housing and manifold are some of the reasons for this.

The 20G turbo that we have produced for the DSM for 10+ years have set the fastest 20g times records. We have made 446 whp at 27 psi of boost on this turbo and my old DSM ran 10.72 at 131 mph with it. This turbo hits so hard and fast you think you were rearended by a truck. Best street turbo we have ever seen.

I expect to see this 20g for the EVO reach very close to 500 whp when pushed on race gas. Pump gas numbers should be very near to 400 if pushed a little.

Let's hope this time the manufacturer of the compressor wheel comes through.

I WANT TO MODIFY MY CAR!!

Damn, that titanium 20g/10.5 turbo sounds sick! I can't wait to see some #s from this turbo. Are you going to be testing this turbo out on your RS David?

Wow, now we're talking. $840 to upgrade your stock turbo instead of $2400 from ATP.

Yes, I am for sure testing these on my RS. That is the only reason it isn't modified much yet.

I would say to upgrade to this turbo, the 20G, I would suggest atleast Stages 1 and 2 first.

Also suggest putting a fuel pump in.

David,

Will one be able to get the Ti version minus the 10.5 turbine housing for people who already have purchased 10.5 housings? If so, what price would we be looking at?

I am sure the turbo can be bought without the 10.5 housing on it. I am not going to look into pricing until it is in production for doing that.

There will be very little if any difference in spool up, 500 rpm is a stretch.

The dealer will never know the difference. The turbo would have to be taken apart and measured with a micrometer, even at that they would have to know what the old stuff measure to begin with.

Once they are up and producing these turbos I would guess to do your turbo on exchanged would take less than 2 weeks. What I will end up doing is trying to get some here (we are buying them up used now) and have some done for an instant exchange.

We are also, forgot to post this, now doing some pretty major port work to the 02 housing, turbine housing and exhaust manifolds on some parts we have here. The first round of porting we did way back when we bought the car didn't amount to much HP gains. What we are trying now is much more involved. After the parts are done that we have here we are going to send them out for ceramic coatings and do more testing.

Wow. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Dave, any problems running the stock IC with the 20G? I'm assuming not since it's the same housing....

Wow. Mr. Buschur doesn't like me, but im loving this turbo upgrade Can we put money down on it?

Also, are there pics of the IC pipe that fits with the stock airbox and battery? (or is it just the battery that it is compatible with?
