just ordered a hallman pro manual boost controller. this is the first performance mod on my new 05 evo...i hope it will hold 20 psi of boost all the way to redline.

hey congrats man.. you should look into a Turbo Back exhaust, and an intake, and some type of reflash... ( dynoflash, vishnu, turbotrix ... ) whatever is yoru choice...

I want to do an MBC, but i live in Pittsburgh and with the weather changing all the time idk if its even wroth it cause i belive you have to alter the setting of it depending on outside temp....

but hey sick mod... welcome to the world of modding... say bye bye warrenty

i read that its recommended to have an aftermarket bov and exhaust if you are planning to use a mbc. is that true?

i would not think you need a aftermarket bov and exhaust to use a mbc...all a boost controller does is hold boost pressure at a certain setting..

the boost does taper after about 5500 rpm's, a manual boost controller will hold the boost all the way to redlline . stock boost is 20 psi on the 05 evos, so adjust the knob on the mbc until you hit 20 psi and your done....will hold 20 psi to redline..al from dynoflash.com is selling them for 89.99 shipped until i think 12/30..check his posts on this site.

are you guys kidding me? what good is the MBC without knowing what your boost level is. get a boost gauge first.

Congrats... My first mod was a shorter antenna to avoid hitting the wing with the trunk open. My friend has a spot on his wing where his antenna hit...

Anyway, I'm still looking a for a stealthy, affordable solution with the gauges. No sense in tinkering with boost if you have no way to monitor it.

Another thing to think about is planning out your MODS... Let's say you go the Vishnu route... The Xede has boost control capabilities and money you invested into MBC kind of goes to waste. So yeah, a little planning helps out in the long run... Which is why I haven't done anything yet... Anyway, good luck and enjoy your new car.
