Just installed my MBC :)

Just wanted to say that I just installed my turboxs MBC today. The car runs sooo much smoother than stock. All I did when installing it was totally bypass the factory electric controller and plugged mine in there. I played with it a little while and got it set to 20psi. Boost still tapers off in 1st and 2nd gear, but 3rd on, it holds 19-20 all the way to redline. The drivabillity of the car is so much better. No more crazy turbo surges when just driving normal. I know that 90% of you prolly already have mbc's but for those of you who don't, it is a cheap investment well worth the money.

04 EvoVIII
TurboXS intake
TurboXS MBC
TurboXS 3" DP
TurboXS 3" Catback

Stock on dynojet it was 214awhp, 220awtq
TurboXS mods at 19-20psi 244awhp, 246awtq

I could bump the boost up more if I wanted, but it runs so smooth, I don't wanna touch it. Tein Stechs came in today, cant wait to put them on Thank you everyone who has posted install guides and tech tips, they have been helpful.

good choice by leaving it at 19/20 psi.... Until you can get some sort of engine management I would leave it at that....good luck in your modding

by the way, did you notice with your exhaust that your boost went up at full throttle?

I leave mine at 20psi and when the weather gets colder it still peaks at 21 psi very briefly on 3rd gear

my exhaust made it spike hard and boost would taper and climb again, but this made it smooth and no its just a single stage basic mbc. Paid $80 locally.

yeh, me too. My turbo back did that, it used to peak at 24psi then down to 19psi.

anyway, it's a lot more steady, and it doesn't taper down.

sweet!
