Anything is possible... JDM Impreza wagon GT is a 2.5 twin turbo flat four... The idea behind twin turbo is usually to lessen lag...

Well, on a side note, no one thought that twin charging an MR2 was possible and it was done... 2nd gen MR2 are twin turbo as well... There's the JDM 4 banger supra that's also twin turbo... Someday, someone with enough financial backing and R&D will put one together just for shiz and giggles...

i thought the way twin turbos worked was that there are two different sized turbos. a smaller one that is used first and then disengaged when high rpms are hit. then the larger one takes over. i maybe wrong, but if i'm right, then it wouldn't be a problem at all would it?

That's pretty interesting how many people are uninformed or misinformed nowindays... More times than others, people are just lazy to search for the information they're inquiring about...

Yes, most setups are like that and are refered to as sequential turbo setup... There are also setups where two same sized turbos are used non sequentially where one feeds into the other then to the intake tract... There's also another setup common on bigger engines where two turbos of the same size are used and both feed into the intake tract... Take the twin turbo Z for example. I don't know how true this holds but it's supposedly referred to as the double breasted motor. Almost two of everything... Two turbos, two throttle bodies, etc, etc...

In relation to the EVO, a twin turbo setup is possible in a sequential setup. It's possible to make room for it... The biggest obstacles are cost, space, engine management, and turbo sizing...

a twin turbo setup is possible in a sequential setup
==================================

I do believe most TT setups are sequential . . . then again, supra guys strip their TT to single for bigger linear power. Basically, simplify things.
