Boost controllers? man or elect. which one?

Post up, I am currently researching boost controllers, as that a fuel pump and a reflash are next on my list of upgrades. My best friend has the hallman evo rx on his wrx and it works well. However, I am looking to run stock or lower boost levels. Then have the ability to switch to a preset high boost level. I was researching and havent heard much good from the greddy line profec II or s. And some say the apexi isnt that great. I would like to keep it around 450 or less. Would like to know about the turbosmart dual stage(man), turbo xs dual stage(man), turbo smart e-boost, apexi. And other manual and elect. Also any issues if you guys know of. Thanks again. i would put this as a poll with comments, but there are too many to list, plus I am sure some i dont know of!

turbo XS makes a dual stage.... i know a couple SRT and honda guys that use this.. they keep the boost low for launch and then 2nd gear flip the switch and they have a higher boost setting.....

Why stock or lower? Wouldn't you rather set it at like 20? J/W

Your currently researching?

Have you tried to do a "search" first?

I believe there are countless threads regarding good/great boost controllers ... Majority of the users here are using a manual... Most dominantly a Hallman RX PRO with or without the internal cockpit control.

Others are using the Dejon Tool and the Joe P (sp?) Boost Controller ... Others the TurboXS then there are the people using Electronic BC's ..

Good luck!

Reason they have a dual stage is so that off the line its less boost (less hp) so your tires wont spin as much, then the 2nd stage comes which enables more boost (more hp) because they wont be limited to spinning the wheels since the car is now moving ..

@ Least thats what I've grown to learn ...

Thumbs up

I mean lower as in like controlled. Mine spikes alot and I dont like it, spiked to 24.2 psi today I want something solid holding wise. Plus if i am just playing i would rather save wear and tear on the turbo. But when its play time flip the switch to 21 or so. and have it hold all the way to redline. Which is what kills me now.
