torn between HKS EVC V & Blitz SBC-ID3

I really like both but still trying to get more opinions on the Blitz SBC-ID3. I heard HKS EVC V works really well but its complicated to use.

2 more questions.

On the HKS EVC V what are those 2 big volume knobs for? It does take up more space when installing the HKS unit.

Stock psi is 19.5??? How much higher boost(max 21 psi?) can I turn it up and will I feel a difference in speed? I want to know what 1 psi in boost increase feels like.

/\ have you got rid of your fuel cut yet? If not that will limit you as well.

Are you saying that I need a better fuel pump in order to turn up the boost?

blitz .. simple to use .. and has other options once you fit the RVIT or the powermeter ID3..
I got it up and running with 45 mins and figured out how to set the boost like within 10 mins .. all using manual setup of course ..

No, I think he is saying that once you turn the boost up, if you turn it up too high then your fuel will cut. I am not sure what fuel cut is on these cars..but it sucks when you hit it. I hit it once when mine spiked to 24lbs on the greddy profec B. I switched to a hallman mbc that works great. Just my 2c...
Turning the boost up 1 lb. won't really feel that different...the boost controller just holds the boost till redline, when the stock spikes to 19.5 for a second and drops to 16. It will feel stronger all the way through to redline...
Good luck on your choice

I would go with the HKS...I installed it myself and I have been very satified with it...It has a warning system on it so you get to set where your warning level boost is at...mine is set at 22psi..so if my psi will spike at any given time (lets say the temperture dropped 20 degrees) then once it hits 22 then it will essentially kick the boost controller off and run on the wastegate...which will limit the psi to around 9psi...It has other settings as well, but I have not looked into them yet

My advice is go for the HKS

If you HAVE to have one of those two I say go for HKS. I used to have it and it held rock solid boost and I thought it was very easy to use.

However, if you are open to suggestions I would say go for a MBC, like a Hallman. You can get one for less than 1/5 of what you would spend on the HKS and it will work just as well. Save your money for more important things.

Happy with my Blitz sbcid3 and powermeter combo. They are very entertaining to play with. I wouldn't cough up the money for them if I didn't have a boost controller, but they were already on a used 03 Evo that I bought and I just transferred them to my RS. Blitz also has the warning feature and is very easy to adjust.

Blitz SBC i-d works fantastic. This is a personally preference thing here. You will be hard pressed to find someone that has used both. At around 500 bucks a pop I wouldn't be purchasing 2 just to find the difference. Both are going to have relatively the same features but I prefer the Blitz cause thats what I bought.

Good luck on your decision.
