Is my evo on 3cylinders...

i have a HKS TT and it reads peak RPMs. and for some reason it showed 7,780 or something. I thought fuel cut prevented this to happen, i was running the evo hard and i really do not recall hitting that high RPMs. well just wondering if this coulda messed anything up if it did rev that high. Car feels slower to me, but just might be my BOV. and also check engine light is on, but dont know if its from a big problem or just the usual...cat-del pipe

Have the code(s) pulled. As for the revs I have accidently gone pretty far into red line before and have not hit fuel cut yet.

dont worry about the over rev, done it several times. .. As for the car running on 3 cylinders, it will shake very bad and will not go over 45 too easily...also if it is make sure to unplug the injector if you for some reason have to drive it on 3 cylinders because it will warp the cylinder head....anywasy its probably not on 3 cylinders...you might want to check the coil packs as well....thanks..pm me for more help if needed

if you were running on 3 cylinders you'd know it!

On my old vw I had a coil pack go, and it lumped and was horrible all the way home!!

yeah, those things aren't an exact science bro. the car running differently is all in your head. stock redline is 76xx, fuel cut prevents you from going over that.

my safc used to say my 300zx reved to 7800, when fuel cut was 7200...

yea i know the TT was a bit off, but didnt know it was THAT off. When i first saw the peak rev, i was kinda sceptical cuz i know the TT is off.but it also scared me cuz i mis shifted 4th and it revved. Well i guess its true that im just being paranoid about my evo being slow. I guess i need to mod it more to satisfy my taste. Hmm true what u guys are saying cuz i rememebr i drove a MR2 on 3 cylinders, that thing was slow as **** even tho it was turbo'd. it would bog a lot and i lost to a nt mr2 but about 10 car lengths. Does autozone pull the codes for free?
