So you wanted to know how heavy is the AC

Well 6 hrs of straight and hard work and Ladies and Gents I have my AC out. Of course it's not an easy job but not too hard as I have had experience but don’t attempt doing it with out good set of tools and of course knowledge. So you guys want to know how heavy hu?? And I want to know where these 2 sensors must go now and will they cause an engine check light?? (you can see them in the pic)

ok Save is 24.8 LBS and counting because I did not take the part that is under the dash board yet which is good for 10LBS. The engine bay looks much cleaner and much easier to work around with.

Please help me find out what i have to do with these 2 sensors

It is heavy once you have everything in a pile but I like how everything looks and seems much cleaner in the engine bay..

but if you like one of these **** weight civic kids who think for every 2 lbs they lose, they gain 40 hp, your an idiot.... the car was designed with the accessories to be enjoyable for everyone, not sweating buck shot at a red light with a helmet on...

edit: sorry if i came off strong, i just had my car break on me from modding it and now i have to get rid of it cause i know it's just gonna get worse... so think about what you do to the car cause you might just have to trade it in or sell it...

Thank you for calling me an idiot I guess you are very smart .and yes the car was designed to give you only 271 but with a flash you go up to 310HP right?? Dont come here flaming find something better to do. Back to topic.. Does anyone knows what I am going to do with these 2 sensors?? so far my friend told me to leave them alone and no engine check will come.

The first plug with green insert is the A/C Clutch connector switch which when you hit the button in the car it sends a signal to the compressor to turn on. The second connection with the brown plug is the High/Low Pressure Switch. Which basically regulats how much coolant passes to the compressor which regulates how cold the air is when it enters the car

Hmm interesting, I was thinking about doing the same thing. It only hits about80 here in summer, no real need for AC here. Keep us updated on the evaporator extraction.

Maher, just got this months Car and Driver(3/05, pp 124). Tony Swan says about the C&D/Vishnu car failure to finish - in addition to a shortage of race prep and harmonic imbalance, "It's also clear that removing the A/C compresser altered the routing and length of the accessory drive belt which is a likelier source of problems than harmonics".

Remember they had three power steering pullies fail. You might want to re-think pulling it out.

Better yet, check out the RS to see how they route the belt.

Just a thought.

I have been running no A/C for awhile no with no problems. I have all the accessories still on just running a shorter belt bypassing the A/C that way it would be a quick fix to get it back. I havent had any problem at all and thats with a every day driver putting down 698whp on race but everyday putting down 525 on pump. I drive it hard bringing it up to 8800rpms everyday. But you raise a good point. I did run a underdrive pulley for awhile and when i replaced the main bearings you could see some wear on a engine wih only 9K miles on it which really shouldnt have been there. I have not run a underdrive crank pulley since but i do still run the underdrive water pump and alternator pulley agian with no problems. I will be taking the engine back apart within a month or so to open up the oil gullies that i closed when i removed the balance shafts due to high oil pressure. I will check out the main bearings then and see how they look. But i see no major problem running no A/C at all. Just my 0.02
