I did. I disconnect the battery whenever I install something that involves the electrical system in one way or another (O2 sensor). It can't hurt anything but losing your radio stations

Just do it. Whether or not it works is remained to be seen. Depending on which system you are installing, get ready for a louder exhaust note. Be sure your radio is up to par to help drown out the noise.

Hey all,

As an alternative, you can disconnect the two fuses under the hood for a minute, then re-install them. This clears the ecu but you get to keep your radio presets and whatnot.

The fuse box is on the driver's side. The two fuses are in the legend with "engine icons". I believe one is 10 amps and one is 15, but double-check.

I popped the ic hose at the TB, and after reconnecting it my car wasn't running great. I double-checked all my connections and pulled these fuses. You'll notice that the next time you start your car, the idle will take awhile to settle down. Mine stayed high for a few days, but then it seems to relearn everything after a couple of days.

Thoughts?

I have disconnected the two fuses (conveniently placed in a yellow pull up holder for easy disconnect; factory). That did not reset my SES after sealing an exhaust leak before the O2 sensor, so I'm not sure if that resets the ECU. However, it does reset my clock and radio stations. To reset my ECU I had to remove the negative and positive terminals.

I dont think removing both the negative and positive is necassary, just the negative should be fine, with no ground theirs no power!
