Turbotimer F'ing up coilpacks?

i read a thread on a guy stating that turbo timers ruin coil packs,etc..well it was weird.

i turned my key to the on position where my accessories and turbotimer come on, but the engine is off. well i had the hood open workin on somethin and i was next to the car and all of a sudden, i heard my coilpack or somethin goin nuts. like tick tick tick tick with a mix of zzz noises. so i figured it was the TT messin wit the coilpacks. should we continue to use turbo timers? I have ahks type 1 with the harness.

that's reasonable assumption, considering the tt taps into the ignition when in 2 position before the ignition, then turns off again and on when you start the car.

i think the zzz noise is normal, i don't like the tick tick tick noise...

i know the car makes a noise after u turn the car off, like a tick, zzz. sounds like coilpacks or somethin. its in the ingition area, but when i was next to the car, it was going nuts. it usually makes that noise once when the car turns off, but it was going tick tick tick zz z zz z z z z z z

have you try starting your car after taking your TT out? I think that would be my next move/dialysis.

tt is simple to take out, mind as well.

Since you have to take it out anyway, if it's messing with your coil packs.

I was told about a year ago by my dealer tech that the tic tic zzzzz sound is the idler motor at any rate mine make the same noise on occasion and I run a TT, an Apexi unit using the HKS ignition harness. My coil packs are still doing what they're supposed to be doing as far as I know, knock on wood.

Are you talking about that thread? I believe the problem was just Greddy's emanage and not the turbo timer but they fix the problem with the emanage.

no, the key was turned on just so the accessories are on, and all the check lights on the cluster show up, but the engine was still off. accessories like the turbo timer, radio, power windows.

Turbotimers don't do anything, the Greddy e-manage was doing it but they fixed it, refer to that thread for a more detailed answer.
