Blow off valve?

i've been checking around on some sites and also i've used the search a few times i was wondering what would all of you recommend for a good BOV? i want something with a nice sound but yet i wont lose horsepower like i've read a few BOVs that make that happen. any info would be greatly appreaciated.

A couple of good ones are the dual stage or 50/50 valves. They will give you the cool sound without the horrible stalling issues. The APS BOV is a Dual stage so when you don't build much boost it recirculates it all. But the more boost you build it will let more to the atmosphere. If you want to go 100% vent to atmosphere(VTA) then you can try and run the HKS EIDS. It is a very good unit which basically makes your MAF sensor signal not jump around. Both are good options but the we recommend the APS.

interesting, how does it sound? is it loud and obnoxious like some blow off valves or is it more of a conservative sound?

I have the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV. It dumps half the air to the intake and vents the other half to the atmosphere. The sounds is very nice and loud, but it does occasionally stumbles (hasn't stall yet).

I just received the APS today which I will install tomorrow. Its a nice looking piece & looks to be very well built.

I currently have the JDM MR dv which has pretty much no sound (pretty much sounds stock). Its a nice piece & holds boost very well but unfortunately is not liking my car...loves to stall, stumble... so its gotta go.

For me, I could care less about the "pShhhhhs pShhhhs" sound. As long as it holds higher boost than stock & doesnt leak it gets a in my book...Wether "pShhhhse" or not, just do the damn job.

As stated above, the APS is a dual vent valve...1/2 resirc. to the intake & 1/2 vta.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I like the Forge VTA BOV. The nice thing about it is that despite being 100% VTA it does not have any of the stalling or idling issues that others do. It is also pointlessly loud, which is fun.

They are actually a dual stage so the more boost you have the more it will let out to the air. The less boost you have the less(if any) it will let out. So it is actually better then 50/50.

Here is a song clip of the blow off valve. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop.../APS%20BOV.avi

You should try the gfb stealth or the turbosmart dual port. I'm not sure which one sounds better or is better in general. The gfb has a wider range of adjustability that some people may need.

ok so with everyone's input so far which would be the best? one that wont stall or give other problems, and is a basic bolt on? no other accessorys needed. because i like the tial one but never heard of anyone owning one, also i heard of alot of problems with the HKS SSQ. so im stil stuck at which one to get.

I always liked the Greddy Type-S...but I don't know if it causes any problems with the evo or not.
