got the new T.C. with the forged gear set, and have 700 miles on it. I have to wait 2K-3K miles on it as this is the rec. break-in time. i really want to light the wick, but better safe than sorry. boy does it FEEL GOOD! I cant reccommend a better person than jon at TRE. call him anytime, but be prepared to have a snickers bar handy, as he will talk your ear off.................and you better listen, he knows his stuff! it started out noisey, clunky a bit but now I can almost "feel" the gears "breaking in" and it is really smooth/responsive. Will keep you posted.

You can't get the strengthened gears and an LSD since the strengthened gears are the spider gears (the stock TC's weak link) and you replace the spider assembly with a LSD when you install one. TRE does offer an LSD option, but it is just a ralliart LSD modded to fit. Labor on the TC rebuilds is fairly cheap, it's the parts that will kill you. Call Jon at TRE (www.teamrip.com) and ask him about all the options.

i got mine rebuilt from tre withforged steel upgrade.it's great but i didn't break it in for 2k-3k 500miles change oil,and had fun with it

 

In the same boat as the rest with my Tranny and T-case at Jon's getting upgraded. I went ahead with the LSD upgrade for the T-case. Anybody else go with the final drive upgrade for the Tranny?

I can install a limited slip or the forged gears into the transfer case, detail, inspect & adjust the ring & pinion and install a big trash magnet all in 2 days. As for how long with shipping, that will vary with how much you want to spend on shipping. I also offer round trip shipping so check it out.

If you think your transfer case is making noise do yourself a favor and change the oil. Make sure to use only an oil that is GL-5, not a GL-3,4 & 5. We prefer the Mitsubishi Diaqueen, #3775610.
