Can't make boost, need help!

Don't know what the problem is, i was tracking the car this weekend and developed an exhaust leak on the o2 housing, a bolt made its way out. I got that fixed last night and went back to track this morning

Car was boosting fine on the way to the track, then suddenly at the track it wouldn't make more than 15 or so psi in the midrange(should be 20), the boost was acting funny too, bouncing from 10-15psi. It would make 21psi at the top of 4th sometimes, and in 5th sometimes, but mostly it would only make good boost at 3/4 throttle, on the floor it was weak. Seemed to progressively get worse where no matter where the throttle was it wouldn't make boost.

Now, no matter what, it won't make much more than 15psi. Stomp it in first, 11-15psi fluctuating, same in second. PLEASE HELP.

I have no idea what it could be, i checked the xede and made sure map was loaded, even loaded another map. Checked and made sure the boost wire didn't apart on the xede. Checked best i could for boost leaks, can't hear anything when im reving on the throttle body under the hood, and can't hear a leak while im driving.

The way it has progressively gotten worse, i think it must be a leak that has continuesly gotten worse. ANY thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks fellas

check your wastegate actuator.

then check your wastegate.

then check your bov.

then check your intake to turbo connection.

then ... then... well, hell, don't know after that.

i would check the wastegate actuator, and pressure test your whole system. almost a guarantee it's one of those.

what was the temp on the car like? were you having these problems on track or on and after you left? sounds like a wastegate, actuator, or boost leek if the temp and computer settings were fine.

well, it started on the track, i don't remember it being like that on the way to the track, but i wasn't really putting the car into boost.

it was wierd, like, half throttle the boost would turn up just fine, but if it put the pedal to the floor, it wouldn't boost right. it progressively got worse through the day and now it absoloutly won't make more than 15psi. I checked the actuator rod, and its stiff as always, i think it has to be a boost leak. I rescently replaced the upper IC piping and it didn't fit perfectly, so the couplings were a bit outa shape. Im guessing that a full day of beating the crap out of the car spending 80 miles above 5k rpms blew something off a tad. then, the second day just progressively made it worse and worse.

guess its time to pressure test the system. what do i need in order to do that greg?

and the intake temps had to have been pretty hot, all the piping was scalding. BUT, i have since reset the ECU and am still having the problems.

At first, i thought it was pulling timing because of the intake temps, but, after it cooled off and i began to drive home(2 hours later) still have the problem...actually, it got worse than it was on the track.

Looking for the right way to do it or the getto fabulous way?

The right way would be to take a piece of aluminum drill and tap an NPT fitting in it and connect it to the front of the turbo filter side attached with a silicone coupler and then attach a pressure hose to the Fitting. That will pressurize the **** out of the system and let you know what is going on. Use so soapy water to check all the Couplers and you will find your Leak if there is one.

Getto way, use a Leaf Blower or tie Leh to the hood while driving. J/K

Ha, i like the ghetto way. With leh on the hood.

I just drove the car for the first time today, boosts perfectly like it should.

I think one of the couplings on the upper IC piping was hot and loosened up some. When it finally completely cooled, it settled back in. But i def need to redo all of them.

Thanks
