I actully think there is a benefit to using a 5 Gear system Vs a 6th. Taller gears and less shifting are great ESPECIALLY on the road. Look at STi Drivers constantly rowing just to stay in their band.

If I were you I would look to lower your Final Drive ratio, it is rather high like. 4.3-4.5. Drop it to like 3.73 and well you will have a TALL 5th, that is my unltimate goal.

Not 100% sure how to change the ration But I would rather that then a 6-speed for sure.

Cost is £999 Inc Vat

New GSR in gear speeds at 7500Rpm are as below

1st 48Mph
2nd 69Mph
3rd 96Mph
4th 130Mph
5th 177Mph

Models:
Evo 4,5,6,& 7

This is for Evo 4-7 not 8. It also changes lower gear ratios so the Evo will be even more of a dog from stand still.
How about adding some sound proofing if you don't like the noise? Really cheap compared to changing anything in the transmission.

No and No, it'll fit the 8 and it'll make a modded Evo faster. Less shifting, more time in gear, probably better sooolup as there is more load on the engine.

My thoughts exactly. This is what the GT35 people should be looking at. More time in the gear, instead of always running out of gear before the turbo is making the 'real' power.

Would be nice to know if TRE or shepard was able to make something like this, and obviously for a lot less.

Try starting in 2nd and you'll have much less shifting - more time in gear and terrible 0-60. Then shift from 2nd to 4th.....
What's needed is a taller top gear - not the whole range.
Spoolup has to do with exhaust gas flow = rpm - not engine load.

Yeah if you look at the gear ratios the sixth gear is slightly taller than our fifth but the final drive is slightly shorter, so it works out to be almost the same. The extra gear on the six speed fits sort of between where our fourth and fifth gears are. I never noticed a dead spot tehre so I wonder why they did it that way. On the Evo IX, the gearing is shorter to the point where you'd almost have to get the MR to have tolerable highway drone.

back on topic... does any one KNOW (no guesses please!) if you can put in the MR 6-speed gears only? In other words not have to add the ACD.

You're an idiot. It makes you have more time in the gears. Having MORE power you would pull through them and have more time in them. I can all but Guarantee a Better 1/4 mile time with a HIGHER trap as you are in gear long putting power to the ground. Torque may slightly increase as your load is.

Spoolup has to do with exhaust gas flow = rpm - not engine load.
STOP TALKING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go sit in your car, rev it in Neutral and tell me HOW MUCH boost you make, load creates boost, sorry.

Sorry buddy, this one your wrong about. Especially with bigger turbo's that need more times to spool, you'll be in power band longer.

Stock, well yeah you gona be slower, having a 450WHP Evo well you'll just be faster, sorry.
