You are always gonna have at least a couple of pumps fail
Not every single one of them can be perfect

It just randomly acts up and whines, don't worry about it.

These pumps seem to simply be inherently noisy by design once they "wear in". The solution lies in potentially sourcing the Zylex FP(Zytec ITP116 high pressure fuel pump) that the FQ400 uses stock, spoke briefly months ago with Adam of Z1 about it, the price might be somewhere within this stratosphere if we could get enough people on a groupbuy, PM me if you're interested in potentially investigating this remedy for the "telltale pump".

p.s. It did it again today...but only for 10 minutes or so on a 5 hour roundtrip.

Are you sure about that? http://www.roadraceengineering.com/f...pflowrates.htm

Not exactly sure, but if its sufficient to support the FQ400 which is most likely in the range of 340whp I'm sure it could support the fueling demands of your average lightly modified evo up to 350whp with ease. Im still looking into a potential reseller of it.

Walbro told me to contact the vendor that I purchased the pump from.

The vendor told me to return it for a replacement.

Like I have the time to pull the pump out, send it back, wait for replacement, and reinstall it.
If I have to pull it out, I'll replace it with something else.
