HKS DP Resonation question.....

Just installed my HKS dp....man....butt dyno says ....stock exhaust....gonna install my Hi Power tomorrow....

...however, i have a question....

I only have the dp...that's it...I took it out for a test drive.....but at low rpm's i hear a slight droning resonation sound, but goes away.... not sure what it is...but it's on and off.....

....it also comes at full WOT midway through boost....sounds like turbulence or something..weird....

Anyone else have this?

When youre back under the car to install the Hi-Power, double check your bolts and the dounut gasket fitment. The first time I put my dp on, the gasket slipped and did not allow the bolts to fully tighten. The result was a funny reverb noise, kinda like a muffeled leak, but once all bolts were tightened, it went away.

awesome..thanks man.....

I installed my 30th ann. today and noise went away.....(maybe it's just cuz the hi-power overtook the noise).....but i will re-check it again..thanks....

OH....btw....do you keep tightening until it stops? I don't have a torque wrench to I'm trying to gauge how tight.....

Thanks again for your reply dude.....

oh...one more thing...sorry.....did you still hear the reverb noise with the cat back on...or did you do what i did and install the dp first and went for a drive?

If you are referring to the bolts on the dp, tighten all the way til it stops. Yes they are spring loaded, but if not tight, the dp will rest or rattle on the lower bracing.
