i checked my wiring again and the pink wire is hooked up to pin 78......i pluged in my headphones and i hear ticking......i routed the knock sensor to analog input 3 on the r-500 and the highest voltage i recorded was .5volt and that was at 6500rpms....and i tryed different grounding points for the r-500 and that did nothing

 

What you are seeing is perfectly normal. The hotter it gets outside the louder your car will get and the more sensitive to knock it will be. If you wasn't seeing any before the cams it is probably some valvetrain noise due to the extra lift causes it to be louder. I had the same results when I ran the AFC with the same cams. 40 counts isn't real knock. If it is setup correctly in calibration and depending at what rpm you are at knock will only be probably in the 150-200 range or higher. The best thing you can do with the AFC is just keep a close eye on it so if it goes up drastically you know somthing isn't right.
