Can cause headbolts to stretch in which case the HG usually goes.

It is possible. Many argue that ARP tq specs aren't enough and that you need to tq an additional 5-10 ft/lbs. However, if the tq wasn't enough to begin w/, you should have had a problem soon after installation. There have been some cases in which they do back out. Check your tq specs again. Does your oil look like chocolate milk? Car run hot? etc

you have headstuds yet the headgasket still blows? wtf. I thought arp was teh win! This is why i don't reccomend replacing the studs unless you're building the entire motor. If you don't screw around with it, you can't mess it up. In answer to your question, yes detonation can blow a headgasket due to extremely high pressures than normal.

Water and oil did not mix. When ever I get on the car(in boost) the temp needle goes up. I was told to replace the thermostat. I did. I also removed my spark plugs, I noticed that the spark plug in the #1 cylinder was normal, brownish greyish deposit. The other 3 cylinders were clean no deposits. That how I came to the conclusion that I had a blown head gasket. I also put like a gallon and 1/2 of antifreeze. I am going to try to retorque the head, If not I will put in an Hks metal head gasket also pistons and Rods.

Just to update you guys, I retorqued the head. I used about 86lbs and guess what- problems all gone. I beat on the car all day yesterday and today. the temp guage went uo and right back down. Today it did not even move and I drove the car harder then I did yesterday. 21.6 psi all the way.

Heck yes detonation can blow a head gasket. If you are real lucky that's what will happen you when do get severe detonation. The other results are much more costly to fix.

What you end up dealing with is hurting the weakest link, usually being the head gasket. This is easily fixed by putting a new one in. The EVO's head gasket is one very very good part though and with ARP head studs installed correctly it makes it very hard to blow the gasket.

After the head is sealed really well the next parts to fail or plugs, valves and pistons.

Just curious, what did you tq them to when you installed them? What were they tq'ed to before you retorqued them down to 86lbs?

Your pistons are more likely to go than your head gasket.

I would think the pistons would go before a headgasket as well
