My parents get pissed when i buy expensive parts. They always tell me that i have to save up for when i go to college in a yeah. My response to them is always "Would you rather i buy pot, crack, heroin, or alcohol? Didn't think so." So they are kind of glad that im too addicted to my car to even think about drugs and stuff like that, but every time they see a box on the step, I always get some sort of a lecture about how to save my money.

I can't stop buying parts for my car either. My fiance is about to kill me as our wedding is next month and I keep buying stuff for my ride. I can't remember how many times I've heard "I can't wait till your done with that car!" Of course I'm not sure if I'll ever be done.

Well my wife knows me tooo damn well. After spending money on my 96 civic (15k), my 02 dodge (8k), and trading up from a 96 zx7r to an 00 R1, she knows wuz up. I told her that I would do some mods on this and eventually be done. Well i think I am done, but she tells me I am not. She thinks, which is probably true, that I will be trading the car in a year because I will have lost interest in this project and want to start another. Probably so as I am looking into the M3s now.

 

i don't have a lot of mods yet, so my girlfriend doesn't complain about the money aspect. but she sure does with installations, research, and meets . she is very jealous of my car, as a spend too much time playing with my EVO's internal parts. even if it is only for an hour or so i get flack.

 

Buy what you can BEFORE you get married, because once you are, the "chain" around your nut-sack will tighten every day, till they fall off, and are put into a jar on the mantle!

 

You gotta figure out what's worth more to you, your girlfriend or your freedom to mod. As silly as this sounds, while it may seem cute now, her jealousy could become a real issue later on in your relationship.

 

And another pro mod and con girl point is that somewhere some got tired of her **** and got rid of her.
