Lightbulb External Wastegate

Ok people, I've searched and all but cant find something in partucular I like to hear about. Boost spikes and holding boost better til red line.

My Idea and what I will try to see if it works, build a piece like David's O2 housing for external wastegate, but make the downpipe conector a full 3" and use a Tial 44mm with the Big Blue & Small blue combo which holds about 21.75 psi of boost (or it is supposed to hold that boost til redline) My experience with external wastagates in Subaru's convinced me that an actuator vs the external wastegate we are talking about at least 20 whp in difference, also in mph in the 1/4 mile. If anyone has tried or thinks of trying this in the near future let me know about it since in all the good faith we all try to learn from each other to run faster 1/4 mile times.

I want to run 93 octane with my BC turned off completely and with some Sunoco 104 Push the 24 psi mark, this I think will be an improvement and at the same time I will be running with my turbo at its peak efficiency.

Post away Guru's or people that have tried this. Post ****** stay away from here

Im thinking the same because when i didn't had a lil porting on the head it will hold 22-23psi to red line , now with the lil port on the head it lowers to 17psi til red line!

heads being ported doesn't mean it gains boost. External wastegates doesn't mean it can hold boost. It's just that the stock turbo cannot flow enough psi to supply the engine in top rpm. A bigger turbo will be a remedy.

Since you are familar with what I tried the results are right there. The larger 44 mm gate isn't going to make a difference in how much you can hold over the 38 mm I used.

No matter how you try it the car is going to take a hit on HP down low. The boost will hold better up top but depending on your combination probably still will not hold the high boost at redline you are looking for.

Honestly, you are wasting you time and money, I already did the experiment to save you guys having to do it.

Combo springs are big blue & small blue = 21.75 psi

Also remember I drag race, so a bit off down low isnt that bad, but Im sure when it starts to pull I better hold my neck. David I know you tha man, but like I told you I tested this on my WRX and Im going to do it on my EVO, hope everything goes well and some more whp can be made, also I love the sound of it ^^

Bring the noise!

The money you spend on this would be better spent on a little bunny rabbit.

$3low for the Tial brand new, machine shop wont be much, compared with a new turbo = less money heheh. We'll make a custom O2 housing like David did we'll see what happens. It's here only David is so inventive with his car, guess Im following some good steps in the evo family.

David quick question, did it make additional whp up top I mean how much? Couldnt find the dyno graph

The best solution for what you are trying to do is either the Forged adjustable wastegate actuator, which we have in stock or our new heavy duty high boost actuator, which is a re-worked stock actuator. The HD stock actuator is a 26 psi actuator. Holds the most boost I have seen possible with the stock turbo. Problem is the boost is always high so for alky or race gas use or swap it out for pump gas back to stock.
