Regular Oil in my Evo

When i bought my evo i think the dealership put in regular oil in it (bought it used with 8k). I know this because when i changed the oil for the first time the tech said that the oil was really bad. My question is: Will this effect anything in the long run if i drove it hard for 3000 miles on regular oil?

I dont think you can "tell" if oil is synthetic just by looking at it. All oil goes bad over time/use, I wouldnt worry about it too much, just make sure everytime you get an oil change, synthetic 10W-30 goes in there

I really don't think it will be that bad although in the manual it says that using regular motor oil may damage turbocharger components. A lot of guys used regular oil to break in their motors too though. Keep a sample of that oil just in case you have problems later. You can blame the dealer and have proof. But if your car's running fine now, I doubt it did any harm.

You should be fine ... just incase, you can clean out the fuel system, valves and combustion chamber with some Chevron with Techron or Valvoline complete fuel system treatment if you want ....

are you sure it was regular? id be surprised if mitsu screwed that up, anyway, if it only has 3k miles on it with regular it should be fine, i doubt any sludge buildup would happen with 3k miles, just put synthetic in it from now on, and youll be fine
