Whats the difference between the 03, 05 and Evo IX turbo? I know for a fact that the hotside on the 05's is different from the 03's, is that the only difference or is there more? So what would be the difference as whole between both 03's and 05's to the Evo IX turbo?

 

i believe the IX is going to have magnesium turbines, which is new.

 

The Evo 4 turbo is TD05HR-16G6-9T

The 03 Evo 8 turbo is TD05HR-16G6-9.8T

The 05 Evo 8 turbo is TDO5HR-16g6-10.5T

I main difference being the exhaust side of the turbo on the IV is smaller than the 03 and the 05 being the largest.

 

Great info, but he meant the IX, not the IV. He corrected it in the body of the post. Do you have this same info for the IX's turbo?

 

I did hear about the turbo on the IX being magnesium. How much different will it be from the 05's?

Well there some one here that posted some info about this turbo if i can recall but i cant find it, so the info is already out since the car is out in Japan already and the specs on the turbo are also available.
