EVO VII Throttle body leak,

Hi guys,

I found my engine idling a little a little ruff so we connected up the leak smoke machine tester and found the throttle body leaking air from the side closest to the engine. (See photos)

Wondering if anyone else has come across this problem and have an easy fix besides replacement?

Thanks.

Could be the throttle body shaft seal. Sometimes it will rear its head in higher mileage applications. VFAQ has this to say in relation to DSMs, but should carry over to the EVO:

Definitely get the proper seals for the TB shaft. People who've used o-rings have reported sticky throttle and even stuck throttle.

Mitsubishi don't stock the seal. Any idea who stocks the proper seal?

You could try Mach V. But it seems like they're back ordered.

They're actually back in stock now. Haven't tried them on an Evo throttle body, but let me know if they fit!

This sucks and to think MIT should have learn by now. I can see the engine blowing up with hassle from MIT.

I better go check mine because the other day it seemed like my throttle was slightly stuck open.
