Looking for input on radiators Koyo/PWR/ARC....

I am looking at upgrading to an aftermarket radiator with the 115 degree weather here in AZ.

What is the final word on the Koyo Vs. PWR radiator? Are the Blitz and ARC radiators that much superior (trying to justify the price tag)?

Thanks

Search. I have alot of info over the forums on this....

Koyo is HUGE. Its one of the best on the market.
PWR is ok the welds are not as nice (it does not matter in my book) but its thiner.

Some Koyos might not fit right away. I believe they are made by hand.

koyo is a medium size radiator... has that jdm quality. arc is basically stock sized... but don't underestimate... the finning is VERY intricate. pwr makes two radiators... the big boy one which is larger than the koyo and requires the ac be removed... and their more tame one. theyre kinda like fluidyne in the sense that they're standard of industry.

My radiator got a hole in it and I replaced it with the Koyo. I got a great price for it from Injected Performance. The unit is very very nice. The welds and overall build quality are top notch and it is a pretty sturdy unit.

HOWEVER, this radiator is BIG, I think the exact size is 52mm. With that said, you have probably a half-inch, if not less room between the manifold shield and the radiator. If you are planning on running a super big turbo you might want to check out the PWR which is a bit smaller or the mini one Buschur sells

Be sure to pick up some aluminum polish as this piece DOES get dirty, especially in the winter!

If you are looking for stock turbo performance, Koyo is the way to go. Very nice piece and is definitely the best choice unless you are made of money and can go with the Arc radiator (which I do not feel is worth it).

And a picture of it:

another thing to beware of on the Koyo is the filler neck is VERY thin and weak. if you put too much pressure on it, it WILL bend/break.

I have the Koyo, and second those complaints. I think I am going with the Buschur mini one once the GT35 arrives. There's no way its all fitting...

I checked with PWR and they have two thicknesses. One is a stock thickness that has no clearance issues. The second is considerably thicker and will fit with the stock turbo and heat shield but only has about 1/4" of room. I have seen the second and the fit and finish is excellent. I highly recommend PWR parts.

From what I hear, Forge motorsports is coming out with one soon. Might be worth looking into.

What bothers me about all these radiators that are out now is that no one addresses the fact that the upper rad hose passes right above the turbo manifold. Being an engineer at heart, I'd love to see one where the upper rad hose is moved over to the right and full Aeroquip SS lines and fittings while you're at it.

I believe Tym Switzer built this one on evoviiyou's car:

Nice fab work and nothing but top notch stuff like we're used to seeing come out of Tym's place.

Regards,

I like Koyo for it's value for money. Its a big single row so that should really cool things down. Use it with Redline WaterWetter for better results
