Is this ROD KNOCK (vid/audio inside)

Ok, just got my engine rebuilt by AMS a few weeks ago... Everyone around here thinks its rod knock..I seem to think so as well... There is normal 4g63 ticking goin on, but this ound is deep and a knocking sound. Sorry for the crappy vid. I have friends coming over tnight to drain the oil and see if it is filled with flakes and such... A/F are fine. I only put 290 miles on since the build, and running only 18psi during break in. What would be your proffessional opinion?...BTW..its loud, and dosent go away. It also gets faster with rpm raising..but not as loud when revving (all i hear is the exhaust).

Many proffesionals here locally say rod knock, but I just thought youd wanna listen.

Doesnt sound good, i dont know what else to say. Why did you have rebuilt in the first place? Forged parts or did the stock motor blow

Damn, that does sound like rod knock but its hard to tell for sure without being there. I would suggest giving AMS a call asap. Let them handle this matter. They should be able to help you out. Dont run it like this for too long or you will end up scratching the crank if its not already done.

Cool

ive had an exhaust leak sound like that at the manifold on my el camino. it was loud as h3ll. cant really tell from the video. check the manifold between the head and the manifold. then check between the manifold and the turbo exhaust inlet just to be sure. hopefully it is just an exhaust leak. you can also get a mechanics stethiscope or a long screwdriver and place it on the engine block and place the other end on your ear and listen for the distinct sound coming from the engine. good luck.
