I had the Cusco twin-disk clutch... it's cerametallic with carbon friction surfaces. Shifting is very smooth with this clutch... extremely smooth. It can be slipped quite a bit as well... a very good clutch.
However, I managed to destroy one in about 3-4 months... but that was due to my broken crankshaft, not driver error. I'd recommend this clutch if I had the money for another one.

I have one, has been holding up well for 10k hard hard miles.... I'm doing a 4.11 upgrade and 4th gear syncro repair this winter. When I do I'm sending the clutch back to exedy to have it remanufactured or just buying new disks depending on the wear I see. It seems to be grabbing a little higher than it used to (disk wear). I love the clutch and would buy it again if I had to, smooth engagement and good driveability.

P.S. - For the 40 bucks a TOB costs, just do it. I know yours only has 1000 miles on it, but if it gets damaged while removing the old clutch, etc. it's not worth the headache of having to go in there again. Just my opinion...

Yes, different disks, if you talk to Matt Gold (an exedy rep that frequents here) he can give you the part number for the Exedy clutch configuration that is equivalent to the Cusco. Although, the PP will be purple, if that matter to you
