264 Cams Tuning?

I was wondering what is involved in tuning for aftermarket 264 cams. I had them put in a couple of months ago and got my AFRs tuned pretty well on the AFC and the timing curve looks pretty solid and smooth getting to about 20 degree @ 7krpms. I followed turbolarry's AFC and datalogged w/ pocketlogger. I dont have a wideband so I'm not dead on w/ the tune. But just wanted to know what else needs to be done to tune for cams.

I know this is a way old post, but I just ran across it in a search, and had a general question for those with 264s...

Does anybody have 264/264 or a 264i/272e combo and is still running on the stock ECU w/ no tuning or flash? I was just wondering what idle is like for those who are doing this, if there is anybody out there... I have this setup (264i/272e) right now, and the car is having some troubles with idle on the stock ECU. Soon I'll be on an AEM EMS that will allow better control and I know this will be a huge help, but I was just wondering if anybody else has the troubles with this type of setup with the stock ECU. I also have intake/exhaust on the car also, but other than that it's pretty stock. Any input / advice would be much appreciated...

*edit* - I should mention that I also have cam gears that are currently at -4, -1.

put the stock air box back in and see what happens. It's a quick swap, and could answer all your questions. 264's should idle fine, even the 264/272 combo.

Cool, thanks for the reply... I may give that a shot tomorrow to see what that'll do. I will post up the results once I get around to it. Anyone else have any experience w/ this?
