clutch/tranny?

if you have a had a problem with your tranny or your clutch went out quick, what drivetrain mods did you have?

did you have short shifter, bushings, ss clutchline, did you remove the clutch resrictor, light weight fly wheel, aftermarket clutch, after market tranny etc.

post if you have these mods and have had no problems, too. and mention what year your car is and what model, rs, gsr, mr.

It seems that clutch failure comes not as much from power but more from poor technique/abuse.

*but the number I've been reading is 300+awhp has meant trouble for the stocker

^^ yeah, i realize it is abuse sometimes, but it could be a different factor that no one has discussed. many of the horror tranny stories people have replaced these parts and the clutch. many people have had problems with their tc when the removed the clutch restrictor. and buschur said he sees tc problems with acts often. maybe they had a false sense of security with their act and instead of the weak clutch getting the brunt of it the tc did. but it could be what mods one has. i think the cheapest mods out there are these ss lines, and bushings and it's an easy DIY so they are common. and clutchs and tcs are common problems. coincedence, lets find out. everyone can post b/c it is important to see if people have or have not had problems w/ or w/o drivetrain mods.

This has been answered in the past. The TC going out on most 03 EVOs, has been due to incorrectly shimmed parts from the factory. Clutch going out is because of a lot of young 1st time manual drivers or just out of abuse ...
