engine swap

I have a 97 mitsubishi eclipse gsx, it is all-wheel drive 2.0 I4 engine. Is it possible to swap a Turbo Lancer engine with mine? If so, is it fairly simple or is it very complicated? Also where would I go to get a turbo Lancer engine?

Anything can be done for enough $$. You already have a GSX though, and there is PLENTY of potential for that car. Just visit Road///Race Engineering's site, and have that credit card handy! If you live in California, then you have no excuses for making RRE your second home!

The engine that will fit into your car with minimal modification will be the EVO I-III 4G63. Anything later will not work. Out of these three generations, EVO I-II believed to have higher potential with a lower compression ratio of 8:1 (IIRC) than EVO III 9:1....

Anyhow, you can contact RRE for those engines, however, you already have the 2G 4G63 in your GSX, don't waste time and $$$ to get the EVO 4G63...instead, spend the same $$ and you can achieve amazing results...

I am trying to do the same swap. I got a lancer evo3 6 bolt motor from R390 Sports in Cali. Im trying to put it into a 95 Talon awd. I had to buy a 6 bolt flywheel to accomidate the US 2g awd tranny. Let me know any info cuz im worried.

An EVO III motor will drop right in your car with very
minor modifications, you need to swap somr things like thermostat housing and oil filter housing.

For more info you can E-Mail me at work.
