what your saying is normal, 98% of the time in any standard car will do that.. reverse has no synchros, so by putting it in first you stopping all the gears inside moving, then it will slip into reverse easy... or hold it against the gate in reverse, and let the clutch out slightly..

see thats the thing guys btw this thread is helping alot my problem is like evo-rc but its like that for almost every gear as if there is a plate only when the car is first started in the morning or when i have stoped for a while and i start the car to go again. It only goes into 3rd gear after i start the car then everygear is smooth. So this cant be normal since it never happened with the stock clutch when I get on it I dont smell clutch either. Im still gonna adjust but after people have adjusted the pedal does it still not go into reverse or first gear or it should be fine after.

mine 70 percent of the time went into reverse after i adj. mine correctly.. just hold the clutch in for a couple of sec. and the tranny gears should slow down so you can get it in reverse... only if the clutch is adj. right will this happen.. after adj. my clutch it shifted like a new trans again... that wasnt good enough for me, i took out the restrictor pill, and the damn shifted better than any other mitsu i ever owned... and the same will be done to my 05 soon...

It shouldnt be adjusted so much..i have repeatedly adjusted by act with no positive results.

in fact it gets worse because the engagement point moves so much that i have trouble launching the car.

with the stock clutch, my hks twin I never had this problem of havin to adjust and adjust. The engagement point was exactly where it should be.
I've had my evo since 2001 and only now since going ACT do i have this problem. I've also changed my gearbox to see if that was the problem...but it wasnt.
now in the process of changing the clutch,pp and flywheel completely to see what happens.

So you adjusted it already and it still sucks?

If you install lowering springs you need to readjust the alignment, if you put on a boost controller you need to adjust the boost, if you put in bigger injectors you need to tune it...

Mike i know dude well I said it sucks because the area to work in was really small and im not complaining but I wish we had better clutches from factory...anyways I adjusted it and everygear is fine now but reverse is still a ***** and there is very little freeplay dont want to risk it to the point where there isnt easy to get it into reverse i have to put into first gear then reverse is this normal with the act i never had this problem with the stock clutch thanks?
