SMC alky kit low level light.. got questions

When I first got my alky kit I poured about 4 glasses of water inside to test the unit to see if everything works fine. With about 4 glasses of water the "low level" light came on and when I tested the device everything was fine. Since the tank wasnt connected I just turned it upside down to empty the tank.

Its been about 4 months and I just installed my kit in today. This time I only poured 1 cup of water in just to test it out cause the tank was installed and I didnt want to fill it too much. Everything worked fine but im not getting a low level light. Do you think I have to pour in a certain amount for it to detect the tank is low? I dont want to fill the tank with anymore water because I dont want to sit there and pump everything out. I have the SMC kit btw

Yes like a fuel tank there is a sensor in there. IF the level is not above that certain amount the light will come on. I suggest you test it with whatever fluid you're going to use and fill it up just before a tune.

Sorry I misread your question. With no or little fluid in the tank the low level light should be on. CHeck the controller again. If all wires are in place and connected properly the led or the controller could be bad.

Your float level sensor is probably stuck. Look into your water tank and see if it's stuck in the up position.

I had all sorts of strange problems with the lights. The problem was a bad ground. I then wired the ground right to the battery and no more problems.

Ok I fixed the problem. I tried everything at first...and did what you guys recommended. I had to stick a coat hanger in the tank to play with the floater to make sure it wasnt stuck. After an hour of cussing and no luck I decided to take the tank out to check and see if anything was wrong with it. I ran out of ideas and started shaking and turning the tank upside down. One more last try before I call it quits for the day... I turned the power on and it worked...my low light level turned on. lol.. Filled it up and test sprayed it until the low light would come on again to make sure the sensors were fine.

I have a question... The "spray" light only comes on when it hits a certain PSI..depending on your settings? The spray light should not come on when you push the test spray button correct?

thanks

Whats weird is when I took the red wiper fuse wire and black wire(from the sensor) and connected it straight to another car battery the spray light would stay on. Then plugged the red wire back to the fuse box and grounded the black wire the spray light stayed off. I was confused because I didnt know if this was normal since I was running a small Odyssey battery.

I dont believe that the light will come on when you test it, I will check mine out today and report back if nobody else has chimed in by then...you can tell it is spraying when the engine stumbles once you have tested it.

The spray light will come on if the Pump can generate 40psi. So unless you have the jet hooked up the light will not come on, otherwise the lines are open and it can't build enough pressure.

If you have the jet hooked to the end of the line the spray light should come one when the test button is pushed.

Notice if you do not have the ground hooked up off the pump it will not complete the circuit causing some altering affects.
