blow my dip stick out..

Just see if anybody has had this happen...

I lanched the car and half way thru the run(1/4 mile)
the car started to smoke...
after the run found the dip stick popped out and i lost about
1/2 qt of oil....
the psi was at 26psi and drop to 24psi...
i ran a 11.79 ....

thanks for any ideas....
p.s also have the pcv valve removed the blow-by kit install(road racing's kit)

Pretty common on older DSMs... 1st time i've heard of it on an evo.. the PCV being removed is a good place to start., but i guess it depends on what it is replaced with..

Usually when i saw this happen it was that the car was not completely warmed up.. You weren't running your car cold were you?

I had that problem with my EVO after Boost Solutions did a bunch of mods and tuning to the car. I think as do other knowledgeable people that it was due to mechanical damage to the engine. Oh BTW, my car had 140~145 compression...... I think you have bad rings or something else that's causing the pressurization of the crankcase.

I have heard of this in the DSM community as I used to have a 95 eclipse. A friend of mine had a 93 gsk and the same things happened to him. The problem turned out to be his rings were bad.

Definatly a first time I have heard this on an EVO..

Thats called you ran way too much boost on either pump gas or way to much timing for that level of boost. Welcome to the land of broken ring lands on your pistons. Compression test proves nothing do a leak down test and that will tell you the culprit.

check compression.. all good--from 160 psi to 165 psi..
I have had this happen with my 1g....
I was running vp c12 5 gal and 3>gal of 93..(not just pump gas)
I made a couple hard pulls again today...
All looks good...
timing was controled by the ecm(dyno flashed)
the car was all warmed up...

i have not lanched the car yet .... but would not think this would cause this...

or you can buy a wastegate and weld it to your valve cover and set it to a certain PSI so when it reaches the limit it vents the excess pressure.

A Old Friend of mine use to do this on his TT 383 Small block (boosting 30lbs) a breather just wasn't enough....

Happens to me as well. I think a zip tie is the answer.

definatly check the compression because you could be getting massive amounts of blow by because of bad rings

I heard this happen several times before, but it's allways with the big HP evos like the dude above, your producing impressive #'s but not in the 500w range so I would investigate a little further before signing it off.
Also there is an inline check valve attached to the right aft (below the oil cap) side of the valve cover. This line elbows out of the valve cover where a ball/spring type checkvalve attaches, then it's ~5/8 rubber hosing to the #4 I/M inlet.

If this check valve gets stuck, I would assume overhead oil pressures may be rough enough to pop the dipshick out.
