Forge UNOS or Hallman Pro RX MBC?
Forge UNOS or Hallman Pro RX MBC?
Guys, I need your help. I can't decide which one to get. I know they both are very good, but I have to pick one. Any of you possibly replaced the Hallman with the new Forge UNOS? If yes, what are your thoughts on both units, which one performs better?
I have a lot of experience with both units
first on an evo never get the RX hallman - just get the regular pro it works better on an evo
Ssecond - I prefer the Forge - while the hallman is excelent - the Forge is the best I have ever come across
Plus Forge has a very customer friendly presense on these forums and stands behind its product like none other

I got one that was given to me by Mike from FORGE(Thanks Mike) but i still havent had a chance to install it. Hopefully this weekend and i will post a review. Its a nice piece too, id say to definitely go with the FORGE one
havent seen anyone with the unos , but my hallman works just fine so no need more me to switch

isnt the size of the unos controller like twice as big as the hallman ?

The unos is a bit larger - but it comes with two installation brakets
You cant go wrong with either unit really - the UNOS just holds the boost smoother and has a slightly lower boost drop
The recent dyno sheets I have been posting as case studys that look smooth like a still pond are with the Forge mbc

Thanks Al, I noticed you like the Forge unit a lot - I did search before starting the thread.
I'm currently running AMS MBC, would you have any opinion on it?

A MBC is a very simple device and they mostly work really well
The main issue in choosing one for an evo is to look at the bleed holes for the wastgate which is an essential feature to allow the wastegate to close when you lift the gas
In some designs which as the TX's unit (2 large holes) the bleed hole is too large which is not a issue on a low boosting car like a NA honda with an added turbo - but on a car like the evo which has a turbo working overtime a large bleed hole makes for significant boost taper up top - think of it as a nice sized boost leak
The Hallman and the Forge both work really well on the evo - I just prefer the Forge I like the way it holds the boost. I am dealers for both - but I have not ordered any more Hallmans after I tried the Forge
The Buschur Racing MBC is also really good stuff

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with the Forge UNOS. I'll let you know how it works on my Evo.
I already know I'll love the ratchet type adjuster, since my AMS MBC has a nut that needs to be loosened in order to change boost.
