Talking The TANABE Track beast transformation Thread!

Need a place to put this! I plan on transforming my car into a TRACK BEAST! Going beyond coilovers, completely change the suspension, braces, Trailing arms, etc... I want this car to be VERY competitive next year on the track! Motor is comming out in 2 weeks, going with new/stronger internals, Turbo, will gut the interior, change seats, need taller rear spoiler (ala Cyber Evo), and will "cage-it". Wide body/undertray etc... I will post my findings along the way here, and will include pictures. This will be a long write-up, as the winter is long! .

Need the car ready for the Winged Warrior II, in May of 06. And plan on seeing me rip up the track (or the car) around the east coast/miswest!

Yeah! Maybe I'll finally get to see a car with tubular aluminum control arms! Sure they're uber-expensive, but I would think that a 'track beast' would flaunt such high profile, and elite parts with ease.

a couple of suggestions

1. shorten the wheelbase
2. widen the unibody
3. aluminum or cf roof, lowered if at all possible.
4. full lexan windows
5. the aforementioned control arms
6. cf or AL propeller shaft

maybe I'm going overboard, but when I think of 'track beast' I think of the JDM cars prepped by the shops to run low 50 second times at Tsukuba. In either event, I'm subscribed.

Its actually under Winged Warrior II (not 11) Click on my picture, and search my threads, there are videos/ photos etc... of the events. with rules, final standings etc...(final standings of the May 05 event) All the info is HERE! It is an IMPORT vs DOMESTIC car speed challenge: This will take place Mothers Day Weekend 06. Expect magazine coverage, and 10K people in attendence!

Got the Airport to do this, they are shutting down a runway and taxiway for us.

Events:
Huge autoX
skidpad
0-130-0
1/4 mile race under the lights.
Slalom

The grand finale with the Team USA vs TEAM IMPORT hasnt been decided yet, but it will be a wild/awesome finale!

There will be 70 imports vs 70 domestics. Everything from us EVOS, lambos, ferraris, Saleen S7's, GT 40's etc... Will be bad to the bone!!! Will post info on this site about it. Just look up the old threads, and see how much fun we had before, and this will be HUGE! All proceeds go to the local Childrens Hospital. good cause!

There will also be a huge carshow! I just posted Butler University footage of the event under MIDWEST FORUM on this site!

Mid 55 second lap times The record at Tsukuba is still held by the HKS Carbon Fiber Evo.

Here's a link to the in-car video from that record setting run.

Please right click and save as: HKS Record Setting Tsukuba Lap

If you're going to spend that kind of money you might be better off just buying a race prepped car. Unless you do that sort of thing for a living. In any case I'm also subscribed and good luck to you.
