Weird thing happened...

I was drving to school this morning. I usually warm my car up before i take off every morning. It just happened that this morning was really cold outside. When I was taking off from a stop light. I got on it on 3rd gear up to 6k rpm and then shifted to 4th gear. But after I got it on forth gear the car jerked forward really bad. Same as when you stall really bad from 1st gear. The car didn't turn off but I still did stopped by the side of the road to check things. What happened here? Did I hit a fuel cut? My current boost during the summer is 20-20.5 psi. I haven't changed it since then. I never experienced anything like that before, I just want to know what it was.

colder weather sometimes will do this from my understanding, colder air is denser which will let more boost creap. fuel cut is possibly what happened

Fuel cut. I get it in mine as well... you HAVE to get it warm enough to get the needle moving, before getting on it.

It feels like someone stood on the brakes.

If no one minds me asking, how exactly does a fuel cut happen? I am pretty sure its there for safety reasons, how does it work?

Your ecu senses that there is too much boost and cuts the ignition for a split second. it is for safety.
