UTEC: Big power capable? Tuner Issues? Truth Squad Inquiry

Utec Owners: how much power have you made on your UTEC? Any 1/4 results to back up your numbers?

Tuners: Are they a joy to tune? Do they work nicely? What are your impressions? Please chime in with your impressions.

Another thread about alky injection got off topic with this question so I thought I'd pose it in its own thread.

I have seen numerous 11sec evos on the utec. One being a good friend of mine on here by the name of SubieEvolved. He trapped 117.xx With a street tune on a 03 turbo. He had the utec, cams, Ic pipes, EBC, exhaust, intake. Stock clutch, stock intake and exhaust manifolds, full weight. I would love to see his car with a finished tune(it was late, and we kept blowing off LICP), and a 10.5 hotside. His runs were made at 24-25psi from memory.

My car:
Buschur Stg4+fmic
Rnr T3 manifold
Garrett 3076

450whp on race gas(26psi)
360 91 pump gas(21psi)

My car runs great. No complaints from me.

Will get it to the track soon enough.

There are lots of cars runing great with the utec, as with any EM it is only as good as the person tuning it. We have i would say between 10-15 500-600whp cars running on the utec(subies) all run great also.

Txs is slow to come out with updates, but i know they have speed density running on the 350z so i would not think the evo is that far behind.

The utec has its issues, like any other EM.

Dave said it all.

I have since upgraded to a gt3076 and alky injection but i dont have any numbers as of yet.

I would reccomend the UTEC to anyone.... With launch control, no lift shifting, 5 different maps, and speed density on the way it is a great EM...

Once speed density is released the UTEC is going to become very popular for all of us that need to pass obdII inspection.

I dont put down HUGUGEEEE power but i can tell you that i am not affarid of it. Easy to tune, one of the first mods that i feel comfortable in, TURBO xs is a reputable company.
Unlike the AEM i feel like im getting my bang for the buck Value.
not saying the AEM isnt a good system just didnt fit my needs. I wanted something that i could monitor myself, and tune myself and be OBD2 with. I drive my car everyday
