Initial thoughts on Vishnu IX tune
Initial thoughts on Vishnu IX tune
I plan on getting deeper into a review but I thought I should add a few notes asap for the masses after getting some more time behind the wheel.
My IX was the '501st' I believe and put down 295 AWP w/ a Tanabe 70mm DP, works HFC and Greddy Ti cat back.
Bottom line is the cars fun factor has just increased 10x, the whole feeling is as if your driving a 2,200 lb car - she just wants to move forward and fast.
The power holds clean to well over 7,000 rpm and the torque never lets up. Coming from an S54 powered BMW you miss the high RPM rush, major difference with the Vishnu'd IX is just that the rush starts at 2,000 rpm and never lets go.
Any gear, any rpm, put the pedal down results in night and day forward rush - no hiccups, no drama. This is the way the car should have come from the factory.
Its a different car now, you can tell the Evo IX is more than capable of handling much more power.
Any tune that can give you 22% improvement on 91 octane w/ a full exhaust w/ a cat is impressive. If your within driving distance of Vishnu's facilities and an IX owner I can highly recommend their services.
If your in SoCal and would like a ride PM me, perhaps if there is a local meet it can be arranged.

It's important to note that this is on a DynoDynamics Dyno, which puts this around 330whp on a Dynojet with just a tune and TBE w/HFC while on 91oct. It's just great knowing that an EcuTek flash + TBE on 91oct is equivalent to what I would have if I added cams on 93oct, haha. Ouch.

No fitment issues with TBE, no surprises during install etc. Works HFC is top notch, Tanabe DP was a bit rough around the edges welding quality wise...nit picking really.
O2 sensor was relocated from stock cat to the cat back - much like '05s. No CEL's.
