intake question??

I know i know guys i did some searching on here but couldnt find the answer i want well heres my problem. I have an evo IX i was stupid and did not research the k&n typhoon intake and i bought it well it hurt me i got tuned by sean ivey and that intake truly does suck my torque was soo low because of this intake . now i have the injen intercooler pipes upper and lower with this intake my question is should i get hks, injen or arc box sean ivey told me to go with the hks but im thinking injen becuase of my intercooler pipes is injen just as good as the hks?? also i would get the arc but not to sure it would work with my intercooler pipes. Also the injen intake comes with the upper intercooler pipe i dont need it due to i already have one can i just purchase the intake? As soon as i get an intake i can retune for a better torque response im really excited.

how about sell that k&n to some unsespecting tard and put the stock box back on and add a drop in filter. thats what 99% of the people on here are going to tell you to do.

Please remember people it is the Christmas Eve .

As far as intakes, I used a drop in by WORKS. Never had a prob. As far as getting a JDM, if you want to spend the money. I personally IMO love JDM, but there are alot of other intakes out there that will do the same performance for 1/2 the price.

Why screw up so soon a nice car like the EVO IX? I test drove one and they are fast, quick and great right out of the box..... Besides, they are too new and tuners are just now working on them and discovering their quirks. I'd wait a few months before messing with any mods on that nice car. Anyway, from my experience and that of many others, the intake mods to EVOs have not been universally successful. Actually, they are controversial and have proven deleterious to the performance in many cases. FWIW, I've tried the K&N drop in filter and as far as I'm concerned it's a waste of money compared to the perfectly good stock filter. I doubt that it does anything more than coat your intake with oil and crap... Of course, YMMV, etc.

It would appear that either the tune is not really spot on (I'm being kind ) or your mods are just not the right combination.... Who put together modifications list/design for you? I would be cautious about how to proceed from this point. the whp to tq ratio seems to be anomalous. If you just start changing things around you might change the tune in a dangerous direction..... I had a bad experience with my '03 EVO VIII. If I had to do it over again. I would have put that car back to stock right away after the so-called tuner made a mess out of it.......

rjsdxm, what full tbe system do you have for your IX? I know some people fit on catbacks, but were not sure if the DP would marry up without modification. Did yours require any modification?

Details please.
