30K service soon....
I have lightweight shockproof Redline in my trans and shifting quality is on par as the stock oil that came out of it. I have compared back to back the synchromesh and stock oils and never felt a difference in shift quality. AMS recommends Lightweight shockproof in the trans and Heavyweight Shock proof in the TC and Diff. Thats what I am using.
I just recently did my 30K fluid change. Went with the OEM Diaqueen fluid for the tc and rear diff and used BG syncro for the tranny.
Haven't had any problems with either so far. **knock on wood**

Make sure when you do the install to keep the car level. Use jacks in the front and rear for all fluids, this will keep the fluid level even up.
Use either Mistsu Diaqueen, Pennzoil synchromesh or BG and you wont go wrong.

At 30k I changed all fluids to redline. No problems. The dealership also voided my drivetrain warrenty since I didn't use OEM fluids and I put in the ACT clutch.
And installed ACT clutch.
I really dont understand these guys bashing redline? So your telling me redline is selling products not up to spec so our whole drivetrain will go to ****? Probably not. Give redline a call and get your facts straight.

My STi had a grind in 5th Gear (anywhere over 5000rpms) for instance and would even Catch Reverse when switching to 6th gear...Subaru checked it out...and were going to replace the tranny but tried 1 thing they knew would work.
They replaced the Fluid w/ GM Syncromesh fluid that they use in the corvette and Car Felt Great and NO more grinds!
SO bottom line I'll use that Syncromesh in the EVO and OEM fluid in My Transfer case.
When I looked over my EVo before buying it,it was leaking from the TC when so I have to get that Replaced again I guess?
Come to find out the TC was replaced under warranty once already along w/ the clutch...now just have to see what they'll do.
I'm Bone stock though (right now)
