30K service soon....

Well its about to come. I'm planning to change all my fluid(tranny, transfer, differential) to redline....Is this a good plan? I just heard good things about this product, I just want to hear from people who have been using it. Will my warranty get voided if I don't get the service from mitsu? or do I just need a receipt from the certified mechanic proving that everything was done according to the service manual. I still have my warranty, i just don't want them avoiding any needed warranty work on my power train warranty in the future; just because I didn't have them do my 30k service.....

I don't think they would void your warranty because that's like saying they will void your warranty if you use Royal Purple oil vs. Mobil 1. I mean, you aren't modding it, so they shouldn't be able to void it. Just ask your dealership. Hope everything turns out ok.

well i called them the other day, they told me it wouldnt void my warranty but;he said if something happen to my tranny down the road, they will look into my record to see who did the last work on my tranny. Since im not getting my 30k service from them, i know they can easily void the warranty and blame my mechanic just to avoid fixing my car for free. Thats the only thing thats bugging, I just want to know if a receipt proving that everything was done correctly and the way its suppose to be is good enough to avoid them from voiding my warranty in the future.....

Not a good plan at all! Many transfercase have blown up due to changing to a different fluid. Stick with the stock fluid in the TC and rear diff. IF you want to change the tranny fluid Synromesh is all that I would recommend.

Agreed. It seems like most of the problems some are experiencing seem to coincide with experimenting with various synthetics. Maybe it's coincidence but why take a chance when the stock fluid is perfectly good? How often does the owners manual recommend changing these fluids?

Is the BG Synchro. better than the oem fluid? I don't have any griding issues which was fixed already and my car shifts really good already. I might just end up sticking with the oem fluids for my tc and diff. Lets see what others say....

why do you plan on down grading your fluid to redline.. its documented that fluids other then diaqueen destroy the transfer case.. use OEM ONLY!

This is the first time they will be changed. You might be right on this, I never had problems with the oem fluids I might just stick with them for my tc and diff. I still want to know if Bg synchro is better fluid than oem for the tranny....

your completely wrong.. the redline doesnt even meet the specs that are required for the TC and rear diff.. so its not the same thing as using a different type of oil.. more like completely the wrong type of oil.. in which case the warranty should be voided, but i doubt they would check on something like that.

hey man,

A few friends of mine with evo's and I put the redline stuff in our evo's and we dont like it as much as Pennzoil Synchromesh. Mitsu tranny's need special hypo-synchro based lubricants because of the weird synchro's in the tranny.

I kept the Redline for the transfer case and rear diff. But! I definitely would not put redline in the tranny! After installing Pennzoil Synchromesh in the tranny, the shifting was much better. I think it takes 2.78 qts.

I havent tried BG because it was way to expensive, but everyone that uses Pennzoil Synchromesh loves it and you can get it at autozone for $6/qt.

Check out this link:

Yeah news flash your warranty is as good as voided already since you list an ACT clutch in your mods list. Good luck getting them to warranty any driveline part with you have a non OEM clutch.

Nah my warranty is good hommie. My delearship is mod friendly. They are the one who installed my clutch and flywheel when they replaced my synchros. The clutch warranty is voided thats it. I already look into this long time ago....
