345 whp & 331 tq. on Pump Gas

Well after the Xmas waiting and deciding on what to do with my car to run a lower class in the Auto Cross events here I decided to take 5 points off the car and removed the Engine Management on my car. E-manage is gone.

Mark from Turbotrix did an awesome job tuning my car on 93 octane pump gas.
Numbers:
345 whp
331.5 tq.

Dynojet
Final Mods:
Stock ECU (Tuned by Turbotrix)
Stock Exhaust Manifold
Hallman MBC
Upper IC Pipe (Injen)
Intake (Injen)
Lower IC Pipe (Ultimate Racing)
Custom O2 housing (Ultimate Racing)
Turboback (Ultimate Racing)
HKS 272 Cams
Walbro Fuel Pump
NGK BPR8ES gapped to .22
22 pounds of boost

Impressions:
First pass on the dyno without the E-manage car dropped down to 325 whp and and 312 tq, after Mark's quick retune on my car just to check AFR and timing car gained 20 whp & 19 tq. We changed the sparks (NGK BPR8ES for a new set) I had that were ungapped but just for fun we checked what the sparks were at and damned stock from the box the NGK come gapped to .32!!! Damn Mark and Luis almost killed me. Now on race gas and 28 psi spike my car should be a beast but since I didnt have we couldnt test it. For now all I can say is Mark is an awesome tuner and the car now feels better without the E-manage, smooth and better feeling than stock. Track time on Tuesday if the rain doesnt stop me. I'll keep you all posted.

Nice job!

That's dead on what my VIII made - with similar mods. Except I was using an HKS SuperAFR. Boost was 21.5psi and tappered down to 20.

That sounds about right. Those were my numbers on 98 w/o cams (340/330 only boosting 22.5). I think you can widen the gap on your plugs a little from the 22. Try 24 if you want, it should be a small enough gap.

Let's see, for now Im more than happy with my car, and it pulls hard as hell, the power band was awesome on the dyno graph, Mark has it, wait til he gets back to NJ then he'll post it. All I can say is I gained like 30 tq in the area of 4300 rpms or so, bang nice kick on the car now. Mark, Luis and I will start a new project on my car soon, testing a new kit Mark is building.
