It was.

You actually need a Tial, though.

Who cares if somebody wants to hear their BOV? As retarded as it may seem to you; it might matter to other people...once you step outside your bubble; you will realize that 95% of the people on here don't have the same hardcore approach to owning an evo as you do. Also; I have seen that the JDM MR DV has caused some problems itself w/ several members' setups. A crushed 1G would probably be their best bet if all they cared about was faster times w/ least amount of money spent. (like yourself) The person who started this thread asked a question and gave conditions that HE wanted; what is so unbelievable about that? That he doesnt want the same thing you do?

Read the whole thread so that you understand why it's a mistake to get a BOV on the IX just because it "sounds great" and has the name "HKS" on it.

What a waste when people take off perfectly-good BOVs (JDM MR DV) just in order to hear stupid noises at the detriment of their car...unbelievable...

Actually stock, APS, and crushed 1G would fall in the have no problems tier. The greddy w/ one spring has caused some issues before.

I used a Turbo XS Super ROFHL or whatever the designation is.....I switched to a Greddy Type RS and Im starting to develope issues...its popping off under acceleration....however, its a great unit and Im sure its MY fault.

The Turbo XS was a great valve, had some part throttle cruising issues, but incredibly simple and held a bunch of boost with no problem.

You quoted what I said was unbelievable, so why did you ask me what was unbelievable about it. Let us read it one more time:

"What a waste when people take off perfectly-good BOVs (JDM MR DV) just in order to hear stupid noises at the detriment of their car...unbelievable..."

Ok. He has a perfectly-good BOV that performs wonderfully and holds more boost than he's running and likely more boost than he'll EVER RUN. And why did he do it? Because he wanted to hear a noise? You're trying to say that the only reason not to think this behavior is acceptable is if people are "hardcore" about their Evo. Well, sorry, but it is truly retarded behavior to pay MONEY to replace a part that WORKS PERFECTLY with another part that DOESN'T work. Hardcore or not, that is pure stupidity, but the really sad thing is that he doesn't even KNOW why it's stupid. People like you make these cumbaya posts and make these guys feel ok about being stupid ricers, then the process repeats itself.

*yawn* lets look at this from the top again one more time warralt. He has a BOV that many evo 8 owners upgraded to from their plastic POS....ok. Which has not held even stock levels of boost adequately in some cases. It is his first turbocharged vehicle ever in life; so he prefers to hear the BOV when he lifts throttle. (Of course; because you are in your bubble you cant comprehend why anyone would do anything that wouldnt go along the ghetto fast times route) I could even expand and go on about some of the products which are on your vehicle; whcih were put on for sponsorship purposes...not for your overall purpose of hp/ghetto $$$ = happy owner of evo. People like you make these posts where you feel like your opinion has more relevance than 95% of the other evo owners on this board; which is once again; wrong.

I noticed that a few people in here said soemthing about adding an intake for that pssshhhh sound...hasn't an intake been proven to make the car run worse and it is better to go with a drop in? (i may be wrong but i thought that is what i read) I personally wouldn't mind a little sound but im not willing to jeopardize my cars overall performance for it.

Pick your poison.

You can get a VTA BOV to make noise at the detriment of your Evo.

You can stick with a recirculating BOV so as not to hurt your car, but then get an intake that will amplify the sound of everything in the boost system, to include the BOV, but that will be a detriment if untuned.

If you get a cone filter, get tuned, and stick with a recirculating BOV, then you're fine all around with the only negative being whatever you spent on an unnecessary intake just to make sound.
