intercooler pipe blew at 21psi!!!

Angry intercooler pipe blew at 21psi!!!

man it was a horrible day i finished installing godspeed intercooler thought it was all connected then installed greddy boost controller alls fine right ......wrong went on a test run low boost set at 14psi alls ok then high boost third gear pull 21psi holding till 4th gear solid then popp.....lower intercooler pipe blew off on highway scared the crap out of me thought i blew turbo....anyway had to merge to saftey lane take of front bumper fix intercooler pipe while people are driving by yelling thats why you should buy a muscle car!!!!!!!!!!! wtf...anyway i get home fully pissed car parked in front of garage wife swipes the front bumper trying to drive around my car to get into the garage instead of parking behind me,,,this causes the driver side to sag because it took out the bolt to hold the bumper....plz cheer me up

intercooler pipe? that stuff happens all the time.....get use to it, unless you got some t-bolt clamps...

That was the one reason I upgraded my intercooler piping. I was so sick of it popping off. Just gotta make sure you tighten the hell out of the clamps. Ya gotta admit it would look funny if you were driving by and saw somebody taking the front bumper off their car. At least nobody got hurt.

true i didnt think about it like that it would be kinda funny to see that! as for the t-bolt clamps i have 4 on each side now they are very well cranked down

wow man im sorry. Best thing you can do for the pipe not to pop off is to get some heavy duty T-bolt clamps.

Yeah man def sucks... ive had that happen several times untill i got my tbolt clamps then never again. Its dangerous if it happen at the wrong time.

so we all know T-clamps Save..now...what are the sizes and How many total clamps for what All pipes mainly OEM size.

Throttle body is known to be the main one...but as far as Intercoler..What size did everyone get?

It just will not run.shuts the whole car down pretty much.Never happened to me though Mods coming so I wanna have the clamps to be safe.
I'm gonna double up - Hairspray trick and Clamps.

T clamps

Glad I saw this going to have to invest in some T clamps-sorrt to hear about your bad deal-It could be much worse!

samething happened to me last week. I was driving and ripped threw third and just before shifted into fourth big pop and a lot of black smoke rolling out the exhaust from the richness. drove a five miles per hour till was able to pull over and fix.
