He doesn't refer to your diff at all. It sounds like it may be ok. From the sound of it, if you continue to run that ring & pinion you will blow up the TC as the cracked teeth will shear off and wreak havoc. Hopefully Jon can source the ring & pinion for you, if not it looks like you're gonna buy a new TC. I would give him a call, he is very thorough over the phone with his explanations.

The ring and pinion "can" be replaced, but it will cost about $1600 for a custom made new set. Getrag, the German company that makes out TC does not sell any of the parts separate, including the ring and pinion. All they sell is the entire assembles TC. Jon can have a ring and pinion made, but it is not worth it. You can get a brand new TC with all of Jon's magic done to it for $1800-$2000.
I understand how much this sucks. I just went through this a month ago. I took my TC in to have a Quaife front LSD installed and the same thing happened to me. Jon showed me the gears under the flourescent light and I saw all the cracks that weren't visible to the naked eye. Sounds like your ring gear is in even worse shape than mine was.
My question to Jon, which I never asked, would be what % of EVO transfer cases that come in to his shop have a bad ring or pinion?? I will bet we would be surprised by the number. . .
There are at least 2 used TC's for sale on here right now. What I would suggest is to work out something with the seller. Pay him a deposit and pay to have it sent to TRE and if it is in good condition complete the transaction. If it is not, the seller should be responsible for return shipping from TRE.
