Cam Gears
Cam Gears
I just bought 280 cams now I'm trying to decide which cam gears to buy, there is any difference between AEM-HKS-Fidanza cam dears?ssomebody told me the AEM won't fit the cam cover and fidanza you get more degrees to adjust,is it true?
no, and no. AEM fit the cover and you get plenty of adjustability with any set you choose. It's mostly a personal preference and price. It's up to you. Some say the 5 set screw gears are better than the 3, but if you follow proper torque values and use lock-tite, neither will slip.

They all function about the same and have more degrees of adjustment than you should ever need. Just get ones that have at least 5 bolts holding the timing, they are generally considered pretty safe.
You are going to have to trim the timing belt cover or get a CF or clear cover for any gears to fit and not rub I believe but, not sure.
Try searching there are a lot of threads about specific gears and cam gears in general.
Edit: I was typing while ^ was posting.

I recently saw a post, in which the HKS cam gears wore down until it chewed threw the timeing belt.If you get the HKS, get the gears that are silver on the outside and not the teal ones.
