trany fluid help plese

is royal purple max-gear oil 75w-90 okay for the trany i lost my owners maunal.
it;s says okay for gl-4 gl-5

dunno, after reading on here about tranny fluids I chose BG synchroshift II.

No way .. I had royal purple in my tranny and was told to change it right away , use BG syncroshift.

Yeah.....its the same as the GM stuff and its rated for use in our trannies. Just wears out in about 5k miles as compared to BG. I dont want to spend 40 dollars a quart on tranny fluid.

The Penzoil seems to work well, although it is pretty thin. I used it for a while and didn't have any problems but got concerned about how thin it was. It is definitely not 75w-90. I switched to Amsoil 75w-90 synthetic GL-4 and have been happy so far. It does not have the lock-out problems the stock fluid had when cold and should provide more protection than the ultra thin Penzoil.
