Manifold for GT30/evo6
Manifold for GT30/evo6
Hi all,
first of all, this is my first post, so please be nice.
I am new the the evo seen having graduated from 500+bhp subarus and am hoping you can steer me through the darkness I feel I am in now!
Am based in the UK and drive an evo 6 RSX.
Have had it a week but am amaasing parts to get to the same power level as I was at in the subaru (but on a much smaller budget).
I am looking at a stroker kit, solid lifter conversion, exede twin plate clutch, and finally a turbo conversion.
The turbo is where I am struggling. I am after a street weapon and hence the stroker and the search for low down torque. I have decided on a GT30R or perhaps a GT30/40. Either way I need to fit it.
The car came with an RC developments (uk firm) tubular manifold. Am not sure if this will do the job as I know the turbo is bigger and am unsure of the fitment as well as the physical size.
My issue is that I do NOT want to lose air con at any cost. I made that mistake with my subaru. I hear that some low mount manifolds will not fit a GT series as it forces removal of either te air con rad or the air con compressor.
I can't seem to find details on the web of any US firms that sell manifolds (separately) specifically for the evo 6 (think it might be the same as the 8 in this respect) with infomationon air con clearance.
I am happy to go hi or low mount, though am told hi mount isn't necessary.
I would appreciate any advice or suggestions, even a list of items that are worth looking at.
Thanks in advance, even if you can't help.
