Works Cat-back
Works HFC

Im going to be getting a custom Dynoflash.
This is my only car and I drive it every day so I looking for a safe tune but I want it to still give decent overall performance.

No, you don't need to, but it never hurts to get one as long as you get it before the tune.

So the worst case senario is if the fuel pump ever did fail then my car would just die right? It not going to break my engine if it fails

I'm not going to say it will be fine if the pump dies. But you don't need it until you have a turbo upgrade.

No, I'm not sure why you'd come to that conclusion. If it fails, which would be strange, it would probably take out the engine. That's not the main reason for getting a fuel pump upgrade, though.

Al is now recommending the Walbro 255 for all flashes, upgrades, etc, etc. It is less than a $100

Ok then what is the main reason for getting a fuel pump?
Why are people saying it cheap insurance?
Also can you safely ran a Walbro 255 before the flash?
Why does Al recommend it?

I really don't know much about installing a fuel pump (I've looked at the DIY for it) but I do know a friend who did it on his Evo.

It's so that you can supply enough fuel for raised boost without worry. It flows more than the stocker. The reason why we don't say they're required on IXs with basic mods is because it's upgraded over the VIII fuel pump. It's cheap insurance, because it's $85. You can safely run a Walbro without a flash, but it would just make you run more rich than you already are. No reason to do that. He recommends it, because he doesn't like motors to pop. The write-up is on Evomoto.com.

Where is the best place to buy it and do I need the kit or just the pump?

You can buy it at like a 1000 places. Just throw a dart at the wall to pick one. You only need the pump.
