Motor mounts discussion...need to upgrade both?

OK, I have searched and found a lot of information on the motor mounts..I know there are several options out there such as powerflex, AMS, buschur, Agency Power, Kamispeed etc...

I personally like the Agency Power and KamiSpeed as they are bolt-on. Agency Power sells both while KamiSpeed is just the front bottom mount .

I have noticed some only upgrade the front bottom mount and says that enough (KamiSpeed thread says this) and others say to replace side and front bottom.

Q1) So, I guess the question is just replacing the front bottom enough - it reduces forward/backwards rocking, correct? Does side to side need to be accounted for?

On SRT-4's, just upgrading one set caused the other to break, its been a while, so I cannot remember all the details. I don't know if the same affect will pertain to the Evo.

Q2) Also, I assume replacing both mounts will increase vibration a little bit more as compared to just one or is it the same as one mount?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks for reading!

I have a better question! Why wouldn't you just replace them all?

I replaced all of mine on my last car and you could feel the vibration in the cab, but it was a street/strip car so its not a big deal.

If you drive business clients around in your car I would say only do the front and get an engine torque dampner like the Ingalls Stiffy. Your still going to hear/feel vibration and noise in the cockpit "goose". ~buzz's the tower as the leaves thread!

I would if its necessary, friend. I am trying to spend wisely - if one is enough, why not just do it, ya know? Thanks for the reply!

By far the softest and the one that give no vibration in cabin is the powerflex once you have all mounts in the car there is no vibration what so ever. I had the first AMS mount it worked like a champ but the in cabin vibration after a while bugs the hell out of me and it gets so loud at times. The Agency Power and Kamispeed are made of the same stuff as the AMS mounts. The only thing that makes it better is that it comes in a fancy mount (big deal). Im going to change all my mounts to powerflex by far its the best out. I really dont even need to talk about buschurs mounts there solid just take a guess how it would be inside your car with his mounts in.

I got a sheet right in front of me on these Avid Racing motor mounts. We have sold these for the SRT4, and finally are out for the evo and wrx/sti. We will be doing a GB on these in the next few days. So if you are interested please PM me and i'll give you the specifics a bit earlier. These mounts are good for 1200 hp, and come with 3 options of polyurethane. If these are better than the SRT4 ones like we are told the evo community will be very happy and pleased.

While we have been out of stock of the Powerflex mounts for quite a while due to an unprecedented demand for the product, we should have them back in stock to supply to our dealers soon.

With that said, Powerflex was the first to offer a complete bushing set for the Evo.

- Front Lower Mount - $50
- Rear Lower Mount - $45
- Two Side Mounts - $60 (each side/2 required)

Also soon to be available:

- Rear Differential/Subframe Mount Bushings

With the Powerflex front and side bushings installed, there is actually LESS vibration into the cabin than with the front installed alone.

Hard to beat them for the the price!

Any update on the Avid motor mounts? and another question, are the ralliart ones really softer than the powerflex mounts?

Here you go...

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=176991

On a follow up, now that it is summer time and I find myself using the A/C more, the idle vibration with A/C is rough, real rough, I'm not gunna lie. Anywhere off of idle the car is perfectly smooth, it's just the idle with A/C on. I find myself turning the A/C off when I get to traffic lights...

I'm currently using the agency power front. I like it, and have yet to have a problem caused by it. You will notice more vibration at first but it's not dramatic. Only reason I haven't done my side mount is I'm lazy, but it really fixed my engine movement.
